This version has been finalized on the 24/03/2000. It has been added by Addison-Wesley to the latest edition of the Daly-Kopka book.
This version is based on a modified version of Web2C 7.3.1 and the current teTEX distribution as of February 2000. Most of the tools have been upgraded since the previous versions and here is the current status for each package :
If you do not see the progress bar running on the first screen, then you need to upgrade this program. Got to the section 3 and get the latest version of the TeXSetup program and read the section 8 before using it.
Copy all the .dll files from the CD-ROM in the bin/win32
directory of your installation. If some program complains that
either msvcrt.dll or msvcp60.dll is missing, copy this file from
the setupw32 directory on the CD-ROM to your system directory
(c:
windows
system on Windows 95, c:
winnt
system32 on NT and W2K.
Get an upgraded version of gsftopk from section ?? and unpack it on top of your installation.
Run the program setupw32\gs27550.exe from the CD-ROM. It will install Ghostscript 5.50 and Ghostview 2.7 . If you want more recent versions, you can grab them from Aladdin’s home.
Currently there is no real cure : copy the files you need from the CD-ROM. It is possible that a newer version of TeXSetup may allow you to reinstall only the documentation collection.
If there are needs, I’ll provide a standalone version of this program.
You will need to get a completely new set of binaries. This is quite huge and the recommanded workaround is to upgrade your system to some more recent version.
