The ASCEND system is available by anonymous FTP from the following directory.

Please let us know that you have retrieved it and when. We will add
you to the list of people to receive notification of updates. We
would also like to receive feedback on your use of it.

I retrieved it!!
We distribute ASCEND under a GNU license which means that no one can
distribute it without telling others where to get it for free. If you
modify ASCEND and distribute it, you must also clearly state you have
modified it. If you use part as a definable separate entity, your
code has no strings attached to it; you must still tell recipients
that our part is available for free. If you intertwine your code with
ours (i.e., essentially modify ours extensively), then the GNU license
kicker comes into play - you must distribute that code under the
conditions of our GNU license -- which is not a bad thing, by the way,
if you believe in free software distribution. It would be a good idea
to read that license which comes with the distribution.

Our goal is build up an ASCEND group where we all work to add features
-- like new solvers -- to it to give us all a better tool for
simulation.
